This website provides information and resources to support the development, maintenance and annual reporting for UK’s professional education unit programs to prepare educators.
The University of Kentucky Professional Education Unit is fully accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE is now CAEP… the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation). Each UK educator preparation program conforms to the standards and expectations of CAEP. In addition, each program is approved for operation in Kentucky by the Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB).

Unit Programs

There are three buttons related to Unit Programs. The first will provide complete descriptive documentation for each EPSB-approved UK educator preparation program. The second (which is password protected) provides program managers with documents to demonstrate the completion of required annual data collection, analysis and development activities. The third button (also password protected) provides access to the EPSB-supplied program descriptive templates which have been completed.

Resources For Program Managers

Unit educator preparation programs are under continual review and development. In addition, new programs are always being proposed. This work is done in compliance with a variety of agency standards, rules and guidelines.
The Resources for Program Managers pages are intended to provide the necessary documentation, program development guidelines, and unit policies that program managers need to engage in this work.

Program Development

The Educator Preparation Programs website is also used to make UK’s new programs available for review by accreditors and by EPSB program managers.
When programs have been approved by the EPSB, they are moved from the Program Development section of the website to the UNIT PROGRAMS section.
